Gin and gin & tonic often evoke pleasant memories, especially when the gin is exceptional. Crafting a fine gin is no simple task, and Beka, Kote, and Giorgi were so captivated by their love for gin that they decided to create their own. Their journey to find the perfect flavor involved exploring many options, and they eventually discovered the raw materials that provided the taste they were seeking. Despite having many gin enthusiasts in the country, finding the right technology was challenging, so they took the matter into their own hands, studying distillation through online courses and working with Ukrainian experts.
The product name and visual identity were as crucial as the quality of the gin itself. From the beginning, they envisioned the drink being associated with Medea and healing, which led to the creation of "Malamo."
Malamo gin contains 13 botanicals, with 10 being local. The goal is to eventually use only local Georgian botanicals, and this is already part of their future plans. Along with localizing raw material production, they also plan to establish a bar concept where customers can taste freshly distilled gin.
Malamo gin has a diverse character and a unique flavor profile influenced by many factors, including the origin of the plants, the spirit, and the water. It can be enjoyed at any time, not just during lunch. The aim is to gradually build a gin culture among the local population and eventually spread beyond borders to conquer the world. In addition to the one-liter bottles, Malamo will soon be available in 0.5 and 250 ml bottles, making it more convenient for carrying in a pocket.
Malamo gin can be sampled in favorite bars, purchased at alcohol retailers, and is available for home delivery. They firmly believe that a bottle of Malamo makes for the best gift.
