Georgian Wine Tasting at WSET School in London

On November 13th, Georgian wine expert Daria Kholodilina will host a Georgian wine tasting at the WSET School in London. The event will showcase a diverse range of Georgian wine styles, and attendees will have the opportunity to receive a complimentary copy of the book Georgia: A Guide to the Cradle of Wine by Daria and Miquel Hudin.

T: Daria, how was the Georgian wine tasting in London planned?

The event was organized in collaboration with the legendary wine book publisher and store, Académie du Vin Library. I also received great support from Georgian winemakers and import companies like Taste of Georgia, Sad Meli, and Astrum Wines, who gave me the opportunity to present some of the best Georgian wines at the tasting. The event will take place in the renowned WSET School, which further highlights its importance.

T: What styles of wine will be featured at the tasting?

For many Britons, Georgian wine is either sweet or exclusively within the niche of natural wine. Some also know about amber wine. My goal is to demonstrate stylistic diversity, featuring classic white, amber, and red wines. Most of the samples come from truly organic vineyards.

T: Why is the UK market promising for Georgian wine?

The UK holds a special place on the global wine map, and Georgian wine has great potential here. This event allows Georgian wine to be positioned correctly and presented to wine professionals. Each tasting like this strengthens our position.

I believe that at this tasting, we will show the British audience how rich and fascinating our wine culture is.
